Client Chronicles: Cybersecurity Safeguards & More

Our client services team is here to serve and assist you all. As we move into the 4th quarter of 2024, there are a few topics we wanted to bring to your attention.

CYBERSECURITY SAFEGUARDS

October is National Cybersecurity Awareness Month. Our firm’s client services group is dedicated to safeguarding our clients from cyber threats. We also wanted to give you all some practical suggestions to help protect yourselves:

  • Use Strong, Unique Passwords: Ensure your passwords are complex and unique for each account.
  • Be Wary of Phishing Scams: Be cautious of emails, messages, or phone calls asking for personal information. Verify the source before clicking on links or providing any details.
  • Regularly Monitor Your Accounts: Check your account statements and transaction history for any unauthorized activities. Report any suspicious activity immediately.
  • Update Software and Devices: I know this seems like a never-ending task, however, a lot of these updates contain security patches and software updates that will protect you.
  • Use Secure Wi-Fi When Accessing Account Information: It is always safest to avoid using public Wi-Fi when accessing your account or any other sensitive information. Make sure your home networks are set up with a strong password.
  • Educate Yourself: Try to stay on top of the latest cybersecurity threats and best practices. Raymond James often providesresources and updates to help clients stay secure.

YEAR END REQUIRED MINIMUM DISTRIBUTIONS

Don’t forget to take your Required Minimum Distributions from your retirement accounts. It is time to get them scheduled to go out prior to December 31st to avoid a penalty. Our client services associates will be reaching out over the next few months to get them on the calendar. Feel free to reach out to us…you don’t have to wait for us to call!
